so let's talk about lucky
shots...I would venture to say that nature photography, by its, if
you'll excuse me, very nature, engenders a lot of lucky shots, at
least those that involve creatures of the wild...many of them just
don't stick around for very long...this bird, a female Ruby Crowned
Kinglet, is known for its constant energetic motion...I was just
hoping to get a shot of it before it departed the area...but I would
also venture to say it's the sort of luck brought about by attention
and preparedness...like Dr. Louis Pasteur famously observed,
"fortune favors the prepared mind."...so was it just a lucky
shot?...absolutely...but it's a shot I was prepared to take...
