Robert (of Robert White) is apparently very ill and has been slowly emptying his store, which is tough, as during the 1980’s and 90’s, he sold to every big name out there. His biggest customer was David Bailey. On Mar 13, 2014, at 5:49 PM, Randy Little wrote:B&H carries Cambo now. I do go to the store for rentals but even then its usually all done at the rental studio or shop. To that end. B&H on 9th is more for tourist attraction then to cater to the pro market.Klaus in NYC you have to remember that B&H is a store front on top of there warehouse in a building they own. Adorama is the same way. I don't know about K&H but I'm guessing they do as well. I do know in NY and LA calumet wasn't competing with anything else. Their rental dept wasn't as strong and their staff is always nice they tended to be less qualified then some of the bigger better marketed stores.I have a couple of Cambo Wides and they have parts which I always need to get from (in the US) Calumet. I also shop at Robert White in the hUK and in fact they provided every panorama camera I ever bought once I got past being gouged by RTS. Whenever I ordered a viewfinder mask or other apart from Calumet, its price was always more than from Robert White including shipping from the UK to DC, and that's not the way to stay in business. ’Special pricing' from Calumet never meant it was cheaper. Once Speedotron vanished from Calumet and Helix, I rarely if ever called them.Art FaulThe Artist Formerly Known as Prints------Art for Cars: art4carz.comStills That Move: http://www.artfaul.comGreens: http://www.inkjetprince.comCamera Works - The Washington Post.
