No one buys from a store anymore.   Only get my studio supplies locally and locally is still B&H or Adorama or Samy's or supplied by the studio if I am renting for a shoot.
Camera makers aren't in much better shape.   The only thing keeping Nikon alive is that its also and R&D source for Mitsubishi who owns them.   They use it to write down against the rest of the company.  Sony was doing the same things with some of its outside assets like Imageworks.  So when margins get that tight and you want the premium price Calumet was always asking for even online its whats going to happen.

Does anyone on this list still buy their equipment and materials from a real brick and mortar store anymore? Sobering news in Chicago today is that Calumet US has ceased operations and shut down for good. A quick call to Calumet UK assures me that they are and will remain open for the foreseeable future. I guess the moral to this store is that if you don't want the last of your camera shops to close their doors, buy from them when you can instead of the faceless places on Amazon and ebay.
