I tossed the included mouse after finding it left on the tablet too many times...the wife was not very happy about that.

It goes without saying (so why am I writing this?) that anyone doing serious image editing should be using a tablet; you'll wonder how you ever did what you did with a mouse.

To that end Wacom is the only game in town.

For a really good time ask your friends to try it...it's funny how many people look as if they've never held a pencil in their lives. My favorites are the ones who stick out their tongues the first few times.

And you were there at the christening sucking on a lollipop waiting for the paint to dry. I was in Copenhagen's wings, waiting for GE’s Geniegraphics to get finished enough to work on so somebody much better than I could correct all the inane stuff AD’s had me shoot under the guise of ‘good art direction’. The first time I saw a tablet was in 1983, and it was then that I knew all my ’studio skills’ were obsolete. All I could think about was how to get rid of (sell) the 800 sheets of 8x10 film I either had in the fridge or on order so I could always shoot 4x5 which fit nicely on the scanner and which looked no different to the scanner.

I have been using a tablet since 1988 on a Quantel paintbox and
I can't even imagine not having one. Cintiq I don't like
because I am used to not seeing my hand in front of me at this
point from regular tablet use. They are also a little slower
then normal Wacoms. So you get a slight lag in response. My
tablet is also wireless so I can pretty much be in whatever
position like like. thats not really an option with a cintiq.
Its take about 2 weeks of steady use to get used to using it
but once you are used to it pretty much you won't ever want to
use a mouse ever again for graphics.
I’ve been using a Wacom tablet prototype since before you born
Randy and I can’t imagine not having one now. The Cintiq was not
the same as my hand was always getting in the way. I had already
tied one elsewhere, but I could’t get it to fit my way of
working. First of all the Wacom tablet is light and the Cintiq
    isn’t.
