1) sure why wouldn't you use a tilt shift for exactly what its designed to do. Change the plan of focus for a plethora of reasons.
2) mmm Mirror-less cameras are doing ok but digital view finders aren't quit there yet. They aren't bad but a nice optical viewfinder is much easier on the eyes.
