Re: speedframes

When shooting with the Noblex or other rotary lens cameras, there is no 1/410th but a half second exposure of a car moving from left to right (same direction as lens) can  result in a very long streak. With the right car and shutter speed it can look like 100+ yards. It doesn’t have to be cars either - walking fast is enough to make a nice blur.

I will put an example in a future gallery show.

Exposure time should be real Blur (at right angle to motion) length divided by vehicle speed
- problem is that the blur is hard to determine in this photograph. Want a guess? 1/410 sec.!

http://members.iinet.net.au/~shahjen/speed.jpg is the image, and I'm curious
whether anyone would be able to suggest a method of determining the exposure
duration based on the speed and the (small!) amount of motion blur in the
frame?
