RE: Stuck filter

Well it was a stubborn one, but I got it off.  The method???  Well I used a rubber glove and was able to get a better grip.  Part of the problem was that I crashed a bicycle a few weeks ago and my right hand (yes I am right handed) just isn't fully recovered yet.  Side to side and twisting movement is painful, but the filter is off and as far as I know the lens is still fine.

The problem is likely that the lens was slightly colder than the filter when you put it on.  The filter then contracted when it got to the same temp as the lens.
If you have a heating pad, you could warm that up and then put the lens, filter side down, on the pad for a couple of minutes and then try to remove it.  I’d suggest running it under hot water but you surely want to be able to use the lens, not just the filter <grin> after you get the filter off.

Well if finally happened.  I have a filter stuck on the front of the 28 80 2.8L that just doesn't want to come off.  I suppose I could just leave it on in that its a UV, but sooner or later its bound to be a problem.  Anyone have any tips on how to get the fool thing off.
