Here are a few thoughts on this week's gallery:

The PhotoForum members' gallery/exhibit space was updated FEB 05, 2011. Authors with work now on display at: http://people.rit.edu/andpph/gallery.html include:

Lea Murphy - Coffee with Lauren

A very nice family moment captured well. If you go back to the number of photographs you probably made of her when younger, this likely brings the collection up to date. I agree with leaving your cup in the frame.

            Emily Ferguson - Tea cup

There is a real sense of people recently in this scene. It is hard to see if there is snow on the side of the cup which gives it a feeling different then if it had just been placed there.

            Jim Snarski - Great Blue

Very well captured, Jim. I like the placement of the Heron in the frame and the wing position you presented.

            Katarina Kitaeva -

The tone of this image makes me feel cold on the first above normal day we've had in New Jersey in quite a while. I like the way this is composed as well, a very nice photograph.

            John Palcewski - Winter Blue

Another nicely made image of this winter's weather. You have the snow looking like snow with nice texture in the highlights. I think this could benefit from a bit of rotation, the tilt bothers me here.

            Trevor Cunningham - grandfather

There is great love in the grandfather's eyes and a bit of uncertainty in the eyes of the child. It is a wonderful moment captured well. I love the way the light falls on both of them.

            Yoram Gelman - Icing

Winter weather does seem to be a theme this week. Having just been through some icing like this, this looks exactly what we were seeing last week. You have found a way to show this quite well, I like it a lot.

Mark Harris - Kari Marie Reflected

Thanks to those who have already commented and to those who will. I was concentrating on the framing through her arm and didn't realize the hand merger until after processing the film. I like the rest enough that I decided to present it anyway.
