I use mostly PS 7.0 but I went into CS3 today and it has the shortcuts in a
menu. The short cut for duplicate a layer is Ctrl+ J and under masks the
short cut were blank boxes which I assume you can add you own short cut. So why
can't one create a short cut for the mask and then press Ctrl +J and
then the created short cut to get the layer mask applied?

As far as I know there's no shortcut for making a layer mask. There's a shortcut for making a layer clipped to another layer andfor duplicating a layer and for making an empty layer but it would be something new to me to hear of a shortcut for a layer mask ... That said, in PS3, 4 and 5 you can make up all your own shortcuts for everything but I don't know about doing 2 things at the same time... especially considering you'd need 2 options for the mask; transparent or opaque. |
