I have been having an inordinate number of what I
interpreted as external hard drive failures lately. After a lot
of thought and some experimentation I discovered that the large
majority of those were not the drives but the interfaces. USB and
Firewire portals seem to go buggy much more often than the drives
themselves do. Have others on this list experienced similar
situations? Is there a good troubleshooting method to immediately
identify the source of the problem? Don |
