Not boring at all. A nice study and a great job holding the tones from bright white to black with all in-between.

This is an image begging to be crafted into a fine bw print, in my opinion. The textures, shadows, shapes and tones are fantastic but it appears you stopped short of turning this into something really spectacular in the finishing stages. A shot at HDR might be appropriate on this image, too. It's my favorite of the week but would benefit from some tweaking. Well seen!

              Michael Hughes -Dance Class

You've done a good job capturing the movement and joy of this class. I know how limiting it can be to do these kinds of photographs in spaces that are not necessarily of your choosing and you're often stuck with what you get. For that reason I think a shallower depth of field would be good to minimize the distracting background of the books.

David Small -I have a dream

The title and the significance of this image immediately struck me and it made me teary to think that in days past, indeed even now in some parts of our country, to see this kind of co-mingling of the races could lead to shunning, beatings or worse. Thank you for posting it and igniting what has become a good conversation on the forum. It's always good to look how far we've come (or not, as the case may be) so we are sure to continue moving forward.

Mark Harris - Felicia as a Statue

I like this image very much. I feel the pose is authentic, the fabric drapes nicely and the model's _expression_ matches all the elements in the image. Her face seems a bit blown in the highlights but perhaps it's not that way in the actual print? The weakest spot of the image is whatever is going on where the wall meets the floor on the right side of the image...the whiteness there is very distracting to me. I'm not sure if it's a scratch or light coming from behind but if it were to be retouched out I believe the image would be greatly strengthened.

              Jerry McCown -Olympic National Park

You've captured many details in this image. You've done a great job of holding the sky and water detail despite the bright sun. I'm most interested in the light skimming across the wood and rocks in the foreground...the warmth of its color is very captivating.

Dan Mitchell - Water of Leith

This, too contains a lot of details. The square cement in the foreground of the water distracts my eye...it appears a bird or something is standing on it? I am most interested in the left side of this imaged...the curved rock wall and the wonderful little gate protrusion. I don't know about the Water of Leith but will take your suggestion to Google it and learn something new.

              John Palcewski -Vittoria

There are so many great things about this image...the bent knee, the hand placement, the torso edge, the highlight on her ribcage, the arm. The only thing that bothers me is that the top of her thigh seems large compared to the rest of the body. A tighter crop from the right might help? Maybe not. The more I look at it, the more I like it. Your model clearly trusts you.

Isn't it amazing what's hidden in overgrowth? I like the white little flowers (Queen Anne's lace?) dotting the green grass and can smell a lovely summer day on a slight breeze as I look at this image.
