On this US Holiday some thoughts on this week's gallery.
D.L. Shipman - Bad feather day in Florida jungle.
A nice humorous titled for a well made photograph. I like how the depth-of-field and bright colors separate the bird from the background.
Emily L. Ferguson - The mouth of Clark's Cove in New Bedford, MA.
The day looks very nice and is captured well. The panorama is well made. I don't know how the final result would have looked if the horizon was higher. There is so little going on in the sky that is seems a waste to not see more of the rocks.
Dan Mitchell - West Walton Church
So often this technique results in surreal looking images. This is so well done I would have thought it was a single, well exposed, photograph.
Marilyn Dalrymple - Topper, earning his keep by being a paper weight.
A nicely captured moment. I do like the look in Topper's eyes.
Guy Glorieux - Family picture
I'm sure this means much to the people in both photographs. To me, it is a nice snapshot capturing a family moment.
Yoram Gelman - Benches and Snow
The middle tree doesn't bother me, it was there after all. It looks like a dreary, overcast day. If it wasn't then you need to work on adjusting brightless and contrast a bit more. I do like the composition very much.
Jerry McCown - Art Museum
The lean of the woman on the left is what makes this special to me. She mimics the shapes in the artwork well.
John Palcewski - The Best Swimmers Drown
I like how you use your photographs to illustrate your short stories. Well done, John.
Don Draper - 2 together
A very interesting scene. Is there more we should know that makes it particularly romantic or did you just happen on these two enjoying this together? I like it very much.
NOTE: NEXT WEEKEND THERE WILL NOT BE AN UPDATE DUE TO STAFF BEING ON VACATION VISITING BUDAPEST AND ENVIRONS FOR A FEW DAYS - WISH YOU COULD COME ALONG!
Enjoy your trip! Mark Harris gsphotoguy@xxxxxxx http://gsphotoguy.photography.com/
