Marilyn, thanks for the comments. I've since learned that they are,
indeed, hollyhocks. They grow like weeds here in the desert. On our
compound we have about three of four different colors, but you wouldn't
see that in these images. This is a growing collection of images for
which I've used to finally arrive at a decided gallery tool. I was
thinking about using TiltViewer for a gallery, but it just didn't sit
well. But SimpleViewer, from the same maker, is a much more elegant
product, I think. Here's the test gallery (eventually, I'm going to have
a full-blown photo website...for when I go pro LOL!):
