I've had Tamron zoom lenses off and on since about 1975. Like every major lensmaker today (including Nikon and Canon), they win some, they lose some. You can't terribly usefully compare lens makers. (You can make a very few correct generalizations -- "Leica interchangeable lenses are pretty expensive", for example :-) ). You have to go down and compare specific lenses. (Part of what I'm saying there is that you cannot rule out Tamron, Tokina, or Sigma just out-of-hand.) Haven't used that specific lens, so no comment there. -- David Dyer-Bennet, dd-b@xxxxxxxx; http://dd-b.net/ Snapshots: http://dd-b.net/dd-b/SnapshotAlbum/data/ Photos: http://dd-b.net/photography/gallery/ Dragaera: http://dragaera.info
