no doubt...however, the solution (everyone becomes a paranoid miser) is nothing more than regressive and anti-social...i'd rather get robbed than have my credit card denied because it was used outside the lower 48, even with a standing notice that indicates i live outside the country...if there is a problem with this type of activity, they should be transparent about it rather than hide behind some cloak of "security" that serves as nothing more than a marketing device...
