is a school of thought about that suggests that if the victim of a theft is compensated for the loss by an insurer there is no victim. This could not be further from the truth - such compensation forces up the cost of insurance for all the insurer's clients. The impact of each individual event might be small but collectively these events aggregate to colossal amounts of money - as do falsified or exaggerated claims.
