Re: iPhone photography

I have the original iPhone purchased after the price dropped. It's a crummy little camera, 2 mega pixels only, that works best in bright light. There's no flash. The colors seem to be accurate and distortion free. The iPhone allows one to use a photo as wallpaper, email it or assign it to a contact. I have it with me at all times, but rarely use it. The photo of Dan Flavin's art work that I submitted to last weeks gallery was taken with it, but I did some manipulations in PS before sending it (principally straightening it). If I get around to it, I'll submit another and you can judge for yourselves (making allowances for the lack of skill of the photographer!).

Yes, indeed... what a great idea! While I don't own an iPhone, I will use this service.
You see this and you wonder - why didn't I think of this... so simple.
Thanks for the link.

I don't own an iPhone, but I have a friend who has one. She has the app that
allows her to take a picture and send it as a printed postcard with a
message. The results are great. I know this does not exactly answer your question, but she took a picture at a recent meeting we were attending and I
thought the card I received was so neat. This feature made me want an
iPhone, but alas, I do not see one in my future.

Here is a link to the site that creates the postcards and mails them.

They are gong to add the feature so that you can eventually work from your
computer. I am going to use the service as soon as it is online.

I'd like to ask members for their opinions on the qualities or
otherwise of the camera within the iPhone. What is it best for, what
are subjects less likely to give good results - by good I mean the
result should at least look OK on a computer screen.
