it's seems like the directory is only accessible with ftp...i simply
copied the entire line...now, filezilla did split the domain and folder
string up after i pasted it into the host bar...try entering
vmsftp.rit.edu in your host input, then
/clus_ftp/anonymous/pub/ritphoto/thumbnailgalleries in your remote site
bar...for whatever reason, filezilla automatically split that up after i
connected with the given string

Maybe it would be fun if it could be gotten to work.
This is as far as I've gotten.
With Fetch I can get access to the index of the gallery pages but only
if I go from the vms page. Otherwise I get an error message telling
me that slashes make it impossible to get to the requested ftp page.
Navigating through the folder hierarchy I can get to the index of the
thumbnail pages, and I can download them. But they will not open in
Safari (my browser). I haven't yet tried to open them in Photoshop.
If they're html they should open in any browser.
With Safari I get an error "of unspecified type" when I attempt to get
to the ftp site.
With Firefox I can get to the index page by using the entire ftp url,
but I cannot see the contents of the index page despite that, working
backwards, it's clear that the index page is a folder with contents.
Any more ideas. IE on the Mac is now at lest 6 years old and very
hobbled.
