Herschel and Marilyn:
Those numbers sound right for the final print resolution.
But are they asking for a much higher resolution original image of
2600 DPI than will be needed for the final print specs?
That spec sounds to me like something left over from a really high
res drum scan coming off of transparency film and not a direct to
digital camera.
So if they really mean 2600 DPI that will be down sized to 266 DPI in
the print shop, you may need to do the shoot on film, get it scanned, etc.
Time for some clarification.
Cheers,
James

Basically you need an image at between 220 and 266DPI (Plus the
dreaded Q factor) so make that 300 DPI at the size of the cover...
So for a letter size magazine, 8.5 x 11 in, you need an image around
2600 by 3300 (8 mega-pixels)
The paper weight and surface data make no difference to you.

someone translate the following for me, please?
