Yet Roy but those flashes of light are more often than not followed by a trip to the retinal surgeon and an operation soon there after or the next day.  During that operation the surgeon will take that goo as you called it out, but as often as not you still won't be seeing anything for a few weeks.

Old joke.  What does a retinal surgeon see when a person reports seeing flashes of light???  UFO's??  no  Paranormal stuff???  no  Dollar signs???  ding ding ding ding ding.
