Both. These rice terraces run clear up the mountainside. You can navigate the entire mountain through rice patties...it's wild. Those piles, next to the rice patties, would be rice. I kind of liked the mile-marker effect of the piles as you follow the swoop, but now that you point out the redundancy of the shapes...no, i still like it.
