Here is one review: http://www.bythom.com/18200lens.htm Note that at the 135-200mm focal length range, the max aperture is f/5.6 Stadium lighting in my experience isn't very bright and to get sharp action pix under those conditions for ISO 400, I need f/2.8 and 1/1000th shutter speed. The VR function for this lens won't help at all under these conditions since the objects will be moving and VR won't fix that. For portraiture, I think the lens my work nicely. You'll have to manage you depth of field since the max aperture isn't large but care in composition and selection of background should take care of that. The use of a 2X extender with this lens will yield a max aperture of f/11 = way to slow for any kind of sports photography except bright sunlight or in the snow. No information on the Sigma 400.
