There are many different card readers available.  Most are about the size of a deck of cards or smaller and will read multiple types of cards.  Usually, a simple USB hook up.  When you insert your camera card into the reader it will appear like a drive on your desktop.  Be sure to eject the drive from desktop before removing card.

Thanks Don. My problem now is, what does the card reader look like and
does it go inside the computer or hook up outside with a USB? I haven't
had this problem before. Thanks, S.

Shyrell, as a Nikon, among others, user, I found long ago that the best
way for me to work was to download to the computer via a card reader,
ignore the camera maker software, and work with one of the Photoshop
incarnations and/or Bridge, Lightroom or iPhoto. Other options are
available, of course, for the photo handling but I do really think you
would be well served to get a card reader. They are cheap and very
useful.

To the group,

As some of you know, my computer crashed a
few weeks back. Since it's repair, I have
had to re-install a lot of my programs.
Thus my problem...

When I tried to re-install the software for
my Canon Rebel XT, it would not install. In
reading the "System Requirements" under the
heading "Computer" it states, quote:

"PC with one of the above OS
      preinstalled.

      ***UPGRADED***machines not supported."

Question: What do I do now?

Without the software, I'm not able to
unload my camera to my computer and I do
not have a CF slot.

Thanks to all in advance.

Shyrell
