There are many different card readers available. Most are about the
size of a deck of cards or smaller and will read multiple types of
cards. Usually, a simple USB hook up. When you insert your camera
card into the reader it will appear like a drive on your desktop. Be
sure to eject the drive from desktop before removing card. Don Shyrell Melara wrote: Thanks Don. My problem now is, what does the card reader look like and does it go inside the computer or hook up outside with a USB? I haven't had this problem before. Thanks, S.Shyrell, as a Nikon, among others, user, I found long ago that the best way for me to work was to download to the computer via a card reader, ignore the camera maker software, and work with one of the Photoshop incarnations and/or Bridge, Lightroom or iPhoto. Other options are available, of course, for the photo handling but I do really think you would be well served to get a card reader. They are cheap and very useful. Don Shyrell Melara wrote:To the group, As some of you know, my computer crashed a few weeks back. Since it's repair, I have had to re-install a lot of my programs. Thus my problem... When I tried to re-install the software for my Canon Rebel XT, it would not install. In reading the "System Requirements" under the heading "Computer" it states, quote: "PC with one of the above OS preinstalled. ***UPGRADED***machines not supported." Question: What do I do now? Without the software, I'm not able to unload my camera to my computer and I do not have a CF slot. Thanks to all in advance. Shyrell |
