Father and Son: When the larger image came up on my screen, I had to scan up and down to see the entire photograph. I liked this one when the boy and just the father's legs were framed. It made the stronger message as far as the size difference between the boy and his father. I like the choice of black and white. Quintin Tallon
Cousin of the Groom: Colorful; nicely framed and composed. The white blouse in the background is distracting. Possibly this shot could work if it were cropped closer to the child's head - say from her elbow to just above her head. That would eliminate some of the distracting elements around the child. Still a very attractive shot, though. Roy Miller
The Circus Come To Town: An unusual and exciting shot. As you say, the sharpness and flare detract a little, but the colorfulness and excitement the image shows make up for that. Howard Leigh
NICOLA: A nice portrait. I like the soft lighting. Her head position is attractive and I like it better than the "straight-on" poses one usually sees in Year Book shots. Jim Snarski
The Visitor: I really like the black background. The white blossom really pops off the screen. A very nice shot. Trevor Cunningham
attempt #1: This is an unusual shot. The brown tones with the blue signage works, but I find the foliage at the bottom of the photograph a bit distracting. The photograph has an otherworldly look to it. I find this very appealing. I also like the tight cropping. Christopher Strevens
Lighting Harrow: For some reason having the light so prominent is unsettling. I'm not sure why. I feel as though I want to back up - perhaps to get a better perspective. the composition and framing work for this photograph, and I enjoyed your thoughts posted along with the photograph. Life isn't fair, is it. Morley Roberts
Forest: A beautiful scene, Morley. I can smell the trees and fresh air when viewing this photograph. The one tree trunk almost dead center is a little distracting, though. It almost acts as a stop sign, preventing my eyes from wandering around the photograph. Maybe if you panned to the right a little? I wasn't there so I don't know what you had to work with, but this is still a very pleasant photograph. I can see it as a wall mural. Beautiful. Thank you to Andy and staff and to those who
contributed to the show.
