If you're shooting "pro" and not getting the results you or your clients are happy with while using your current equipment you will have to swallow hard and invest like a pro and buy what you need to get the needed results.

If the 70-200 is too long at the short end there is the 28-70 2.8L and the current 24-70 2.8L.

If the 70 is too short at the long end you may have to consider two bodies. You didn't say which Canon you are using. There may be some good deals on the 30D now that the 40D is out there, and even better deals on the 20D. A big advantage to two bodies is backup. If one fails you can still shoot with the other.

If you are shooting pro your accountant should be able to help with the business end of the equipment costs, etc.
