My dear Charisma,

Once you’ve learned about photography, you’ll discover that it’s not the camera that makes the photographs.

The question you’re asking is like me saying:

“I have never written anything before but I want to write a science fiction novel. Can anyone suggest a good computer with a suitable keyboard and software for writing a science fiction novel? It should be between $1000 and $2000 with a very clear screen……”

You’re going to have to do a lot of research and a whole lot of specialist learning to get decent images of the kind of stuff you want to shoot.

Especially if there’s anything metallic/shiny or transparent/translucent in the subject matter.

Think about spending a couple thousand dollars on equipment and a few thousand dollars on doing a course etc.,

The equipment hardly enters into the equation. Any of the cameras you listed will do an equally good job for reproduction to an A4 full page color or magazine cover. You have choices across a huge range of lenses. You need to have enough knowledge about this kind of photography

The choices are user dependant and until you know what you’re doing you won’t know what you like and dislike.

Herschel

Subject: Macro Camera Recommendations

I am a technical writer who suddenly finds herself in a position wherein there is a critical need to take high-quality photos, with little-to-no light loss, of very tiny things... many  are borderline-to-microscopic, metallic or otherwise, and require a microscope to be dealt with... but the camera also requires the flexibility to be used on regular-sized objects.  I am researching Digital SLR cameras and various macro lens systems, but am really unsure what it all means.  I would love it if some actual photographers who were used to working with macro photography could recommend some systems?  Also, we are not expert photographers, so one with some automatic functionality would be extremely helpful.  Please respond to me directly, if possible.

Thanks in advance!
