Very strange. No shadows. Boat sharp at f22 but trees not. Boat should be moving too.
Jim Snarski - Poised
Ah, you missed the eery screech and the distinctive cry of the young in the nest nearby, but that is indeed what an osprey looks like. Moderately sharp except for the fluttering ends of the wings but no eye. A couple sites on the web claim they've been clocked at up to 40 mph when they hit the water, but do not go deeper than 3 feet and I've never seen one carrying anything bigger than a couple pounds, so a flatfish camoflaged on the sandy bottom might have a chance. Around here the scup have no chance at all!
Valery Firsov - Lady with a poodle
Oh dear! What a wonderful eye you have Valery! First the poor little doggie, with its pink skin showing and that awful pompom, and then the spike heels! As one of the earnest and literal minded shooters on the forum I get a big kick out of your work - no heavy symbolism, just such a comic commentary. Wonderful!
Christopher Strevens - Farnborough railway station
Interesting interplay of planes and shadows in this one. The speckle filter isn't so bad either.
Marilyn Dalrymple - Fan on Tile
Lots of fans here - the tiny charm, the fan and the interesting reworking of fan-like planes behind it in the shadow. How did your thinking go on this?
I think the balance between the fan and the shadows is just too close to the bottom for my taste, but the piece sure is interesting. Is that why you put the little charm up in that corner?
There are no photographs enqueued for future updates of the weekly exhibit. Hint!
