Karl,
Interesting about the Montreal - a handsome car indeed. I can see why you like it and the Chargers. I had no idea it was designed with N. Am market in mind Can't recall ever seeing one on the street in US. Everyone's been crazy about the Spider after "The Graduate." Alfa Romeo is the featured marquee at the Meadow Brook Concours this year.
Speaking of Pacers... I nominate the Pontiac Aztec as the most grotesque example of corporate malfeasance so far this century.
Getting on topic, here's a couple of beauties - when real men didn't need no Hummer!

I selected the Avanti delibrately as an example as I know a lot of people love it, a lot hate it - it looks a hybrid of classic American styling and European styling,, that to my eye didn't work. Alfa Romeo Montreal on the other hand is a car styled specifically for the American market which I think looked superb but wasn't a favourite of the Italians, and the 1971 Dodge Charger is (again to my eye) is an examble of American motoring beauty. And here I am talking of car aesthetics and I didn't once mention a certain AMC :) k
