Karl in the end you have proven more advanced than me in skils and knowledge. No I haven't and do not intend to do, due to time constrains.
BTW flashlight grade/intentded buck/boost converter assemblies are now available for sale from on-line shops like Litemania, SandwichShoppe, Deal-Extreme and Kai-Domain. Do not know if they do from major electronic components stores.
Hell tha way things are going/developing we will have commercial LED studio lighting soon...
