Father's Day:  A fly-on-the-wall view of Father's Day.  (Why don't the fathers look happy?)  This is actually a very revealing photograph into human nature.  Interesting.

Jim Snarski
Black Swallowtail:  A great close-up of a beautiful butterfly.  I used to spend summers swimming in the American River in the Fair Oaks area, Jim.  My parents lived in Folsom for many years.  It's an area that is overbuilding (like all of California), but still beautiful.

Kostas Papakotas
Muffled:  This photo is interesting because of the composition, and framing.  I see the "whale Snout," too.

D.L. Shipman:    The colors are beautiful.  I'd love to have seen this as a vertical with the entire reflection of the bird (was it there?)  Even without the entire reflection of the bird, however, this is still a very appealing photograph.

Bar Girl:  A great "portrait."  I like the twist - being, the scene from the Bar Girl's perspective.

Emily L. Ferguson
self-portrait:  Another different perspective for a portrait.  The "portrait" is somewhat of a tease.  We still don't know who Emily is (or at least, what she looks like).  If I had to send in a portrait, this is probably how I'd handle it{:->

Renate Volz
Just before Take Off:  Beautiful saturated colors; well framed and composed.  Fascinating.  What's not to like?  Great job, Renate.

Don Roberts
Blackware Courtyard:  This is a difficult subject to tackle and the blackware in contrast with the red shrubs is interesting.  It's almost overwhelming, though, to have so much information included in the photograph (the blackware, the fence, the red shrubs, the kiln(?))  If I could photograph this subject, I'd cut out all the peripheral information and shoot directly into the blackware.  I'd also try to get the sun at a lower angle so the shadows and highlights were not so direct.  An interesting subject with lots of potential, Don.

Thank you to all who contributed to the show and to Andy and staff for hanging the exhibit.
