That´s exactly what David Hockney did in many of his photographs. By
assembling images of parts of his subject, shot from different
angles, he achieved some kind of collage cubist effect that was quite
interesting. In a way he was a pioneer in breaking down the barrier
between painted art and photography.
Not that this was Andy´s intention here (I presume....). I was
amused to read that he was simply finding a way around the problem of
not having the lens he needed. And those gaps add a whimsical
flavour that I like.
