Well i will try to explain it in brief..
The program i am refering to, will actually perform the following actions.
Suppose using a tripod i shoot 20 pics after every 3 mins(From 6pm - 7pm) of the same scene under changing light at sunset. I can get a shot (unlike HDR).. Which shows part of the shot taken at 6pm on the extreme left & part of the shot taken at 7pm to extreme left. with the other 18 shots showing the gradual shift in time & light....
To simplify it even further the final shot after processing can be divided into 20 vertical parts of the image. Each part showing gradual shift of time. 1st part will have full light while the 20th vertical part will have completely dark sky with stars etc...
All the 20 verticals will be blended by the software so that the differentiation is not noticable....
Hope i am not confusing you guys with my description.

EasyHDR was one I suggested some time back - and freeware

I generally suggest WinDoze software (though not Vista® .. not much
freeware works with that vile OS) so sorry to
linux/beos/warp/mac/EROSos/etc users..
a general search for HDR if this is not the one you're after should get you
somewhere
