I checked around and the 3800 will do user-size up to 40 inches long. It would be unusual if it didn't because, near as I know, Epsons have all been able to do this. I will be sure to see an example before I buy!

The 3800 is a 4800 without the roll feed and has a length limitation of 22". Epson discovered that there is a huge market that doesn't need and doesn't want to pay for banner prints. Folks who do a lot of panaramas will need the 4800. Besides, Epson makes their profit on the inks.
