David why did you like this lens? I am considering a purchase at a future

I've even got one Sigma
lens myself (the 105mm macro), and might well have gotten the 10-20mm
if it had been out a bit longer at the time I bought in that range (I
ended up with the Tokina 12-24mm f/4).

Since I mentioned three different lenses, I have to guess -- if you're
asking about the Sigma 10-20mm, for the wider end. I had a 17mm (sold
it last spring) from my film days, and the 12mm doesn't *quite* get me
back to that same degree of wideness on 1.5x crop factor. At least on
paper, focal lengths aren't always stated accurately. So the 10mm
wide end gets me to a significantly *wider* wide end, and that's
always good. But that lens was new enough I couldn't get enough
information -- in fact I didn' t know it existed until I went to the
store to buy the Tokina. So I went ahead with what I planned, but I
may have to upgrade some day.
