The thing is not to confuse talent with training. The inherent feeling you have for the medium verses all the processes you learn. Some people are born with musical talent. They can hear intervals intuitively and harmonies come naturally. They are naturally drawn to an instrument. Others learn music arithmetically and practice, practice practice Music, in essence, is made with ears, not fingers. Photography is made with the eyes. I come from a big musical family and played instruments for as long as I can remember. It works the same way as other art. You can train a lot of talent out of someonone but it's a lot harder to try and train talent INTO someone. You are free to judge music simply with your ears or with a set of self imposed parameters. You are also free to judge photographs in the same way You should never judge either by how difficult it was to make. herschel Herschel Mair Head of the Department of Photography, Higher College of Technology Muscat Sultanate of Oman Adobe Certified instructor + (986) 99899 673 www.herschelmair.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
