It varies from time to time. In my few years here, this is
considerably more contentious (and more political) than it has been
*most* of the time. But not IMHO the worst the conflict has ever
gotten here during my tenure.
Stick around, if you can stand it -- and try to avoid contributing to
the parts you don't like, and *do* contribute to the parts you do
like, and help us along. ("Do what I say, not what I do"; I haven't
been able to keep *my* oar completely out of the water in the
political discussion.)
