I remember the clipper chip endeavor, was active working against it --
and you'll notice it *didn't happen*.  So it hasn't "been in place for
years".  

Yeah, the FISA court stuff isn't new -- but what Bush is doing is now
*bypassing the FISA court*.  That hasn't been in place for years
either.

This is probably illegal and certainly *wrong*.

It's refused three requests, but I don't think they were from the
FBI.   They were all pretty much at the same time, and they were
post-9/11.

What's *actually happening* today is far worse than what was
*attempted* and the relatively small amount put into place back when
we had a legitemately elected government.
