Mine reads f4 when its at f3.5 and about f22 when its at f16. mine align fine (poetry) I'm guessing there's a pin attached to the inside of the front rotating aperture disk which engages the iris inside the lens - I don't know whether it would be feasible to readjust it's position but if you feel like unscrewing the outer locking ring surrounding the lens element, you should be able to peek inside and see what changes could be made. k
