Actually 1 - it is a latest technology night sight mounten on any nikon lens. Actually 2 - it is a military night vision device adapted for photographic use. The military issue stuff mounts on (infront) the objective lens of sniper scopes. In this fashion allows undisturbed fuction opf the scope. It seems uit has similar resolution of the sniper scopes (100 lines per inch?), but the downside is that it moves the image about 1/60th od a degree. Cannot know how this would affect an autofocus camera.
