Actually, Bob I was an idealist and a rebel. I thought I knew the truth... I believed I shot the truth. I hated what I percieved to be the lies the government were telling  I waved the truth around and threw it in people's faces.... Somehere along the line I guess I threw it and never found it again....
Now I don't know
In those days we were called "Communists".  Not that we had anything to do with communism really. The tiny-minority government knew that America used the communist bogy man to great success and that as long as we were communists, America would pay to have us eliminated.
And they did.

I was surprised to find, visiting America, more racism and less freedom than in Apartheid South Africa. The difference is that it isn't legislated, only practiced. But nobody is publishing  pictures of it... are they not allowed to? Does anybody care?

Here's an assignment:
Take the stats. Find 10 average white men and 10 average black men.
Check thier status, education, income, family history. shoot thier homes and neighbourhoods. Shoot thier meals and hobbies. Shoot the places they shop... Shoot them on vacation etc., and then let me know if people of all races are equal or treated equally in the USA.

Herschell was an insurgent!!!! :o)

Were you conciously taking the pictures knowing you were near a police
station or was it just an unavoidable fact of life? Were you dressed
like a biker?

Photographs are very powerful at influencing public opinion in a way
no amount of sworn testimony can do. 100,000 nameless faceless gooks
are easily forgotten but who will forget the girl running from the
naplam, or the picture of the hooded man stood on a box. Some images
are embedded on the brain for ever. Is it any wonder governments
should try to control them?

Bob

The founding fathers or a group of terrorists?
It depended on who won.
