Yep, one wouldn´t drop dead from eating medicals stored in such a can, and millions of people (myself included) cook in aluminum casseroles without problems.

Only, my Al film cans at least have a rough inside surface that will rub off and make anything tossed around in it covered with a silver- grey deposit. Also, aluminum is suspected to accelerate the onset of Alzheimer´s, something I can very easily do without...

But those gasketed Al cans are great for carrying a few emergency matches & c when backpacking or canoeing.
