Still on vacation, but I finally have a Saturday morning to reflect on the gallery. Jim Davis Fetch Rover Fetch The stick is almost bigger than the dog! Hungry beyond his means? Great lighting, unfortunate horizon. Something troubles me about the foreground, but cropping didn't help either. Don Roberts Father and son I love the look of old photos like this. The sky almost has this charcoal feel to it, almost as if it were a back ground for warner bros. still animation. It almost has an old technicolor feel to it. But I seem to be stuck with the horizon theme on this one again. Tim Holmes Matty Matty looks scared, or annoyed that you're distracting him from the game. Perhaps that's why you feel it doesn't do him justice. Great exposure though. Dan Mitchell Still life I'd recommend a tripod and a smaller aperature. I like the cropping and the contrast of lines. But, perhaps, a second, or more directional, light source could have given this a little more life. Emily L. Ferguson Right after the start My fave this week. The geometry struck me initially, and when you finally get past all the formality, a father and daughter are clearly on a mission. Fantastic grab. Karl Shah-Jenner prickly pear I agree, the colors are lovely, but I feel everything here needs to be in focus. Just my opinion. Gregory david Stempel A Dark Tree Nice sunset. Nice cloud colors. The tree seems to have enough character. But the bland yellow of the sky subracts from the drama. Perhaps if the raptors were in the yellow instead of the clouds? Terry L. Mair The Falls Feeling it from the picture. Aside from the rain, I hate rain, I wish I were the person on the river bank. Perhaps one of those cliche running water effects would have spruced this up a bit. Pini Vollach Little I hate more than people looming while I play chess. But they all look involved and having a good time. Good grab. Christopher Strevens Martinique - Artist Is the diffusion due to the filter effect? I can't say I like the pastel feel to non pastel colors. "The optimist believes this is the best of all possible worlds.
