hi emily, i started with a canon G1 which i now keep for infrared with hoya R72 filter snug on the lens. i have a G2 for a pocket camera and a nikon D100 with 2 lenses, nikkor 50mm 1.4 & nikkor 24-120 3.5 -5.6 with VR which is nice feature.
for long time i kept skylight filter on D100 b/c i was afraid i didn't know how to care for lens. then someone on photoforum compared having filter on camera to owning stradivarius and keeping it in case. i don't remember who you are but thank you!! took the filter off and like the feeling. kinda risky in a good way...

salut,
maggie
