At least some of them produce entirely professional-looking products
(well, with many of them the design and layout and cover depend
entirely on what you send them; but they don't mess it up if it's good
to begin with).  The prices are significantly higher than the per-copy
cost of a 5000 copy run, but of course you don't need the $15,000 up
front either; sometimes that's the right tradeoff.
