RE: Landscapes of Desire - Call for Entries

Not a spam. I enjoy reading over 'calls for entries'. Not having money for the fees is the only reason I skip most calls. Being a member of an art program in your community is a good way to get your works seen. Most of the time entry fees are reduced to members. One time I was able to barter a one year membership to our art program. I offered to waive my reading fee in exchange for membership. I did a poetry reading at a gallery opening.

Art galleries have to have some way to pay their overhead costs. When the fees are more than $10 for each entry, I have to back off. This call for entries I find to be very reasonable. My only problem is that even if my works were accepted, it's too far for me to travel. But I am seriously considering the Floral competition.

I hope no one else sees this as a spam. I'm always glad anyone in the art field considers photography as an art form. So many in the world of "ART" do not.

I suppose there are entry fees so I consider this spam... some galleries are charging $50 per entry. What a gimmick. $10 is reasonable at most considering how many entries they receive. Just another way to rip us artists off.
