Powerpoint can present images and have sound files play with each 
slide.  You would have to digitize the sound as well.
You can set time delay, etc for each frame of the show.  You can then play 
the presentation on a desktop computer.  Connect a projector to the 
computer for larger display.

Powerpoint is only one display option, but we use it extensively here at 
the office, so it's the one I know about.
There are others out there.
