Don Roberts - As They Passed
Well, since we've dealt with the concept of Commies not being relevant to this image, I'd like to address the image. It seems to me that it's extremely difficult to say something with this situation that hasn't been said already. Sunset bouncing off the granite, strong diagonals on the tombstones, fog rising off the grass, the lone soldier with rifle bowed over one of the stones, b&w - you name it, it's all been done before.
So, for me, the question with this situation is "what could be done to make my effort stand out among all the others?". And if I can't do anything to differentiate my effort, should I bother to take the picture?
Keeping in mind that Andy put out a plea and Don responded with something he kinda liked, I think we could fruitfully shift the conversation to my two questions above.
What _can_ be done with this situation that would make the result different?
