News these days is ephemeral: by the time you are home, decoded the bayer, tweaked it etc etc ... the bloke with the direct transfer via satellite dish has already networked his images ;o) I wonder though: there used to be a press yearbook (well, there was in the UK) of really high quality B&W images. I wonder if that has survived the low-res shoot-straight-for-web (-front page) settings appropriate today? Oh, for any landscape, nature, pictorial work: shooting raw+jpeg seems a no brainer.
