My first impression from the thumbnails, "What a great bunch of pictures
this week!"
On closer inspection:
Morley Roberts, Skiff
I like the way the gray scale goes from light to dark in the background
with the boat breaking it up in the middle. The surface of the water reminds me
of human skin. Comforting in a way, like a newborn.
Trevor Cunningham, Big Sky Prairie
Wow! If I get a good running start could I sail right into that sky?
Another great prairie shot. Would have liked to have been there that day!
Greg Fraser, Weeds
Whatever you did, keep it up and do it again! The white part in the front
looks like a flower begging to be kissed. Don't know why, just does. I even like
the grainy background. Gives this picture a nice texture.
Don Roberts, Light House Refractions
I really love all the colors in this picture. Reminds me of rainbows. The
shiny gear in the middle lends stability while the colors appear to dance. The
only thing I might personally change would be to get rid of those lines across
the bottom.
Lori Holden, Neglect
Hi Lori. I've read your comments about your picture and your title. I
understand how you could have come up with that title. Your picture alone is
great. The colors are bright and the bucket stands out well against the
background. It's entirely possible it has been there for 7 years. The only
problem is that plastic buckets do not show age well because they don't rust
like a tin bucket. A tin bucket, rusted... Now that would have made your great
picture fabulous! Keep up the good work!
Alan Zinn, Art from above
O by Got... What a doze stopper upper... aaaaachuuuuuuu! Sorry, allergies.
Great color cobbo. Dasty subject. Have you beed havind any headaches lately?
Nice shot. Glad I wasn't dere. :o)
Bob Talbot, Ted Hess
Title aside, this is one of those pictures that bring back fond memories of
the old Feed & Seed store, or the General Store in an old country town,
canning jars, home cooked meals and iced sweet tea on a hot summer's day.
Another shot where the gray scale goes from light to dark on a pleasing way. I
always like reflections of all subject matter. Now tell us about Ted, will
you?
Jim Davis, Teals Don't Quack
Beautiful! The blob in the front is a piece of foliage. For those of us who
shoot in the 'wild', we have to take it as we can. Your colors and lighting are
perfect. What else can I say? Will you sell me an 11 x 14 for my living room
wall? I promise I'll put up a plaque with your name on it!
CJR Strevens, Snow on Reigate Hill 20-11-2004
Reminds me of what we are about to get soon! Brrrrrr! I like this picture
in it's entirety. The warm glow of the light in the window says come inside and
get warmed up! My thoughts are with your friend. There's no accounting for
love, but children can be a great comfort.
Jeff Spirer, Bunny
Goodness. I was looking for a cute little brown furry thing that
makes people smile! The darker tones seem ominous and this big headed guy
looks like he might eat you. Kind of cute though in a strange sort of way.
Per Ofverbeck, Autumn Garden
I like the way the bright yellow flowers and the greenery out the window
play against the deterioration and rust on the table and bench. This looks like
neglect. Was probably a beautiful little spot an the beginning.
WRGill
I liked this one right from the start. The ruddy colors of the building
against the stone pavement against the flowers and greenery. A nice old building
with character. The figure on the front makes it look like a pub. The bench to
the left is inviting. Think I'll stop here now and take a bit of a rest.
Thanks everyone. And thanks Andy and staff.
Signing off for now,
Shyrell
