Put the flash on the hotshoe, turn it all the way up to the never-more-than-8foot-ceiling, and pull up the bounce card. Shoot in whichever mode you like except Manual.making sure that your exposure time is never more than the maximum flash sync speed for your camera.

Put the flash on the hotshoe or on a bracket with a cable and aim it at the subject making sure that your sync speed is never more than the maximum for your camera. Dial it down 2/3rds stop and 50-60% of the time it will be fine. Bracket the flash by 1/3 stops from -1/3 to -1 if you wish.
